Library Services for Faculty: Off-Campus Use

A quick guide to the duPont Library's services for faculty members at the University of the South.

Off-Campus Access to Electronic Resources

Many of the databases, electronic journals, and other online resources that Sewanee has access to are controlled so that only Sewanee users can get to them. When you are working on-campus, you are connected to them seamlessly. However, if you are working from outside the campus computer network, you must authenticate to prove you are a Sewanee user.

First, click on a link from the database list, Journal Finder, TigerSearch, or the library catalog. You must use the links from the library website in order to get the login screen. If you go directly to a website, such as JSTOR, without coming from the library website, you will not be able to log in.

You will see the following screen:

Enter your name and barcode number, and submit. You will then be passed through to the site you are trying to view.
