Welcome to the Jessie Ball duPont Library at the University of the South (Sewanee). Let us help you get started.
Find out when we’re open and how to find the resources you need. With social and quiet zones, as well as an online library you can access from anywhere, there will always be somewhere to work that suits you. Discover how your library can help you.
You automatically join the library when you join the University.
Your University ID card is also your library card - you need it to borrow books, journals and other materials. Treat this as you would your bank card and don't share your details.
You can access resources, advice and further information on our website.
There are vending machines in the ATC (Academic Technology Center) on the ground floor of the library.
You can eat snacks and hot and cold drinks in the library apart from in some clearly marked areas.
Please set your phone to silent when you enter the library. Mobile phones can disturb people working in the study areas.
Talking and Noise
The library has different types of study areas. The Third Floor is a quiet floor.
If you need to work together or if you just want to relax with friends, please make sure that you are not on the Third Floor. You may want to use a group study room. They are first come, first served. Inquire at the Service Desk on the first floor.
