All academic departments can purchase books and media (video and audio) in either printed or electronic form for the library collection. We ask that you submit all your orders before April 15.
If you are a new, tenure-track faculty member, you will receive special funds that you can spend over a 3 year period. These funds allow new faculty to help build the library collection in their specific areas of interest and research.
You may submit your requests in any fashion-- by email (to firstname.lastname@example.org); by bringing in or SPOing to us annotated catalogs, flyers, etc.; by sending typed or handwritten lists, or by using the form at the top of this page. Please make sure your name and your department’s name is on the material.
If you need a title by a specific date, please let us know. The more lead time we have in getting an order placed, the better we are able to help you.
Your requests for serials (anything that requires a subscription, or recurring cost) are charged to our Acquisitions budget. We typically purchase online subscriptions for periodicals, unless a title is not available online (or unless the faculty member making the request has a strong reason to get the title in print).
We prefer that you use the Periodical and Online Resource Request Form (link at top of page) to request new subscriptions. Our Information Resources Management Team reviews these requests and makes decisions based on our available funds. For databases, we may suggest a trial subscription before we commit to an order.
