Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek
The DDB is Germany’s central, national portal for culture and science. The portal, wholly organized and funded by the public sector, has the ongoing aim of linking up the digitized inventories of Germany’s cultural and scientific institutions and making them available to the public. The DDB is the national data aggregator for Europeana. The DDB is a network of the cultural and scientific institutions in Germany. It enables and encourages them to network, cooperate and to develop and use together services and innovative tools. These make possible, in particular, new and more effective forms of presenting, managing and processing digitized contents. (German and English versions of the website are available)
Deutsches Historisches Museum
The Deutsches Historisches Museum (German Historical Museum) is Germany’s national historical museum. Located in Berlin’s historic district of Mitte, it sees itself as a place of active communication and discussion of history. (German and English versions of the website are available)
Deustche National Bibliothek
The German National Library is entrusted with the task of collecting, permanently archiving, bibliographically classifying and making available to the general public all German and German-language publications from 1913, foreign publications about Germany, translations of German works, and the works of German-speaking emigrants published abroad between 1933 and 1945. The German National Library maintains co-operative relations on the national and international level. It is, for instance, the leading partner in developing and maintaining rules and standards in Germany and plays a significant role in the development of international standards. The Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen (Bavarian State Painting Collections) is the entrusted custodian of a very substantial part of the public art collections belonging to the Free State of Bavaria, as well as the museums in which the artworks are on show: in Munich the Alte Pinakothek, the Neue Pinakothek, the Sammlung Moderne Kunst (located in the Pinakothek der Moderne), the Museum Brandhorst and the Sammlung Schack, as well as an additional thirteen public art galleries spread across Bavaria. LeMO is a cooperation project of the Stiftung Deutsches Historisches Museum, the Stiftung Haus der Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland and the Bundesarchiv.
