Open Educational Resources and Affordable Textbook Alternatives

CloudSource OA (Open Access)

CloudSource OA contains over 31 million Open Access items, including articles from more than 13,000 journals, ebooks, and etextbooks. The journals are among the top in the field—peer-reviewed, quality publications that were often very expensive to access before they were converted to an Open Access model. Content from predatory journals, blogs and other non-vetted sources are excluded. Filters are provided for search results that allow for selection by many different criteria, including Open Educational Resources.

After a search is performed (you can also do a "zero" search by clicking on the search button without putting in a search term), filters appear at the left that allow you to choose from multiple criteria, including OER Course Level, OER Material Type, and OER Primary User.

An expansion of the OER filters show the various choices. In the case below, college-level textbooks has been chosen.

Once you have narrowed your search, you can view the details of each search result, or just go directly to the resource on the site where it resides.

For additional help in using CloudSource OA contact Pat Dover (see box at left). We are also happy to set up training or consultation directly with the CloudSource OA providers.
