Course Reserves

The library purchases a print copy of each book requested by faculty for their classes and places it on Reserve.

This year we are also obtaining ebook versions of as many of the adopted course books as we can find and purchase.  We always try to purchase an ebook license that allows for unlimited simultaneous users, but that is not always possible depending on the vendor and publisher rules.  Some ebooks will allow 3 users at a time and some only one. This page explains how to tell what sort of restrictions an ebook has.  Also, there are many e-textbooks for which institutional licenses are not available, so students will still need to purchase those books individually. These include textbooks from major commercial publishers like Cengage, MacMillan, Norton, and Pearson.

All of the course book titles (both print and ebooks) will be listed in your course record in the library’s online catalog. You can see your listings through this search link: . Please let us know if you or your students have any problems accessing these titles.

Scanning of print materials
Not all titles have ebook versions available, so we offer a limited scanning service.  We will scan book chapters and journal articles that you can share with your students in Brightspace.  Please use this web request form to request our scanning service:

DVDs and Blu-Ray discs
The library purchases a physical copy of each film requested by faculty for their classes and places it on Reserve.

Streaming video
The library attempts to obtain a streaming version of each film needed for courses. We have subscriptions to several video streaming services that might contain the needed title. We can also license individual streaming films from Swank Digital Campus and other sources.
