Ebooks at Sewanee

An ebook, also known as an electronic book or digital book, is a book that exists in electronic form, whether it started as a print book or not.

Sewanee has access to about 1 million ebooks, and almost all are in the libraries' catalog.

You can read our ebooks on many devices, including

  • computers
  • laptops
  • tablets
  • e-readers
  • smart phones

Downloading ebooks from Library Computers

Some of our ebooks have DRM (Digital Rights Management) software, which is used by some publishers to prevent unauthorized reproduction of their books.

  • Therefore, it is impossible to transfer DRM-protected ebooks from a library computer to most e-readers (e.g., Nook). You can read them on the computer, but not transfer them.
