Open Educational Resources and Affordable Textbook Alternatives

The Open Appalachia Initiative

Sewanee is participating in the Open Appalachia: Open & Affordable Resources Initiative being conducted by the Appalachian College Association (ACA).

Open Appalachia has 11 peer mentors across 9 institutions who are knowledgeable and experienced in open and affordable resources. The ACA also has discipline-specific groups engaging in open and affordable. These are spaces for instructors to review open and affordable alternatives together, share syllabi and reading lists, develop supporting material in tandem, update and edit resources, and learn together and from each other.
