How to get access to The Atlantic through the University's Site LIcense

The Library has a site license that allows free access to The Atlantic for all students, faculty, and staff.

There are two ways to sign in to view The Atlantic with our site license, depending on where you start.

Option 1: Start with this special URL (You can bookmark it): 

https://go.openathens.net/redirector/sewanee.edu?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theatlantic.com

Type in University of the South and then choose The University of the South from the list that appears:

Log in with your Sewanee Single Sign On credentials.(Your email address without @sewanee.edu, with the password you use for Banner and for your email account.)

You may be presented with this box:

You can choose to skip & continue to site. If you choose Get Started, you will be asked for your email address and some other questions:

You can again skip this, or if you fill it out, you will receive a followup email to verify your email address. Either way, you will be taken to the Atlantic site.

 

Option 2: Start by going directly to The Atlantic website, at https://www.theatlantic.com/

Click on My Account in the upper right corner of the screen.

Choose "Sign in through your institution."

 

Enter University of the South as your institution and click on Continue.

Log in with your Sewanee Single Sign On credentials. (Your email address without @sewanee.edu, with the password you use for Banner and for your email account.)
