A collection of more than 200 high quality journal titles focused in the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences.
GreenFILE
Indexes scholarly, government and general-interest titles covering all aspects of human impact to the environment. Topics include global warming, green building, pollution, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, recycling, and more. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 384,000 records, as well as Open Access full text for more than 4,700 records. Date coverage: 1913 to present.
Sources include scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports. Contains abstracting & indexing for more than 600 titles, including complete coverage for Bioscience (back to 1964), Conservation Biology (back to 1987), Journal of Ecology (back to 1913) and Journal of Environmental Planning & Management (back to 1948).
SEARCH National Agricultural Library
SEARCH is the USDA National Agricultural Library’s main search tool. It provides simple, one-stop access to more than 7 million records covering all aspects of agriculture and related disciplines.
Searches AGRICOLA (Catalogs and Articles), PubAg (Open Access Publications), and Digital Collections.
NCBI Databases
Search a collection of very specialized databases (protein, genome, nucleotide, for example) from the National Center for Biotechnology Information. Includes a PubMed search as well.
BioMedCentral Open Access
BMC has an evolving portfolio of some 300 peer-reviewed journals, sharing discoveries from research communities in science, technology, engineering and medicine. All BioMed Central research articles can be browsed, downloaded and viewed without registering, but registration is required to search the site. Includes articles from 1999 to present.
Over 200 open-access journals; articles receive peer review.
PLOS
PLoS is an independent foundation that publishes, and makes freely available, peer-reviewed journals in the biomedical sciences.
PubMed Central
A free full-text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S. National Institutes of Health's National Library of Medicine (NIH/NLM). Includes over 350 biomedical journals.
JSTOR
A collection of over 3,000 academic journals and over 70,000 ebooks in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Also includes over a million images, letters, and other primary sources. Most journals are covered from their first issue up to 3-5 years from the current year, and include previous titles. Also includes the current issues of some titles. Note: there are some journals in JSTOR for which Sewanee does not have full-text access. In the Advanced search you can limit to only the content available to you.
