The indexes below are among the best to use when performing research in Statistics. Statista
Statista is a platform of data and statistics on media, business, finance, politics, and a wide variety of other areas of interest or markets. Statista gathers data from a wide variety of government and commercial sources and presents it in an easy to search interface. Data can be exported to Excel and charts can be exported as picture files or directly into PowerPoint. Data sources are categorized into industries, broad topics, countries, and digital markets.
IOP Science
An online service and index for journal content published by the Institute of Physics, in the fields of physics, mathematics, engineering, chemistry and biology. Contains more than 250,000 articles. Includes links to related articles, references and citations; latest and most popular article listings; and news delivered from the IOP community websites. Journal content from 1874 to present.
MathSciNet
Contains evaluative reviews and abstracts of international research literature in mathematics, computer science, statistics, econometrics, and applied mathematics.Citations only, with links to full text where possible.
Electronic version of Mathematical Reviews, containing the full text of all reviews from 1940 to the present. Current Mathematical Publications is a subject index of bibliographic data for recent and forthcoming publications. Most items are later reviewed in Mathematical Reviews. All items in Mathematical Reviews appear first in Current Mathematical Publications.
JSTOR
A collection of over 3,000 academic journals and over 70,000 ebooks in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Also includes over a million images, letters, and other primary sources. Most journals are covered from their first issue up to 3-5 years from the current year, and include previous titles. Also includes the current issues of some titles. Note: there are some journals in JSTOR for which Sewanee does not have full-text access. In the Advanced search you can limit to only the content available to you.
Monthly Bulletin of Statistics Online
Presents current economic and social statistics for more than 200 countries and territories of the world. Gives monthly, quarterly and annual data on a variety of subjects illustrating important economic trends and developments, including population, industrial production indices, price indices, employment and earnings, energy, manufacturing, transport, construction, international merchandise trade, finance and national accounts. Date coverage: 2000 to present.
The statistics appearing in the Bulletin are obtained by the Statistics Division of the United Nations and the international statistical services from official sources in the countries. International sources for the Bulletin include the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, International Civil Aviation Organization, International Civil Service Commission, International Labour Office and the International Monetary Fund.
OmniFile Full Text Mega Edition (H.W. Wilson)
Provides full text of articles from approximately 2,700 publications (many of them peer-reviewed.) Also includes abstracts and indexing from over 4,000 publications. Covers every core undergraduate subject (sciences, humanities, social sciences, business, and education) as well as cross-disciplinary areas such as ethnic studies, women’s studies, history. 1982 to present.
All the content of these full-text databases as well the full runs of every full-text journal they index: Education Full Text, General Science Full Text, Humanities Full Text, Readers' Guide Full Text, Social Sciences Full Text, Wilson Business Full Text. Also contains the full text from ONLY the journals in selected databases to which Wilson has full text rights: Applied Science & Technology Full Text, Art Full Text, Biological & Agricultural Index Plus, Index to Legal Periodicals Full Text, and Library Literature & Information Science Full Text. Contains abstracts and indexing from over 4,000 publications. Search interface: EBSCOhost.
ScienceDirect
A collection of online journals published by Elsevier Science and its subsidiaries, as well as some other scholarly societies and publishers. The greatest number of journals are in the sciences, but engineering, social sciences, and humanities are also well-represented. Fine arts are not included. Coverage is from 1995 to the present. Note: We have access to about 2500 titles on this site. You may want to use the advanced search and limit to "subscribed publications" only. We do not have access to any books or book chapters.
Statistical Abstract of the United States
The Statistical Abstract of the United States, published since 1878, is the authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States. Use the Abstract as a convenient volume for statistical reference, and as a guide to sources of more information both in print and on the Web.
Sources of data include the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, and many other Federal agencies and private organizations.
Wiley Online Library
A multidisciplinary collection of online resources covering life, health and physical sciences, social science, and the humanities. We have access to the full-text of all journal articles but no books or reference works. Note: The Library pays "per-article," so if you plan to go back and read an article later, please download and save the article to your computer.
World Development Indicators
Contains statistical data for over 800 development indicators and time series data from 1960, for over 200 countries and 18 country groups. Data include social, economic, financial, natural resources, and environmental indicators. Offers many useful features: results can be scaled, mapped, and charted; the mapping function allows users to see the results in a world map that can be resized and zoomed to the country level; data can be exported in standard formats such as Excel. 1960 to present.
