Searching for Course Reserves

You can find reserve materials for a course by searching for the professor's last name or the course number, e.g. ENGL 101.  Lists for each course can include books, ebooks, DVDs and streaming media.  Each listing links to the catalog record for that item. For physical items on reserve, you just need the call number to request the item at the desk. For ebooks and streaming media, the catalog record will have the link to view the resource online.

Library Collections

Books

  • Main Collection Books: 6 weeks
  • Fooshee Collection Books: 5 weeks

Renew books up to 2 times (except for conference participants) by bringing them by the Circulation Desk, calling, or going online if the books are not overdue. Books that have been requested by another patron (recalled) and items on reserve may not be renewed.

Videos

  • Checked out for 7 days
  • Can be renewed 1 time
  • Check out a total of 5 videos at a time
  • Must be 18 or older to check out R-rated or Mature-Rated videos

Music

  • Can be renewed 1 time
  • Checkout a total of 5 CDs at a time

Audio Books

  • Checked out for 5 weeks
  • Can be renewed 1 time
  • Check out up to 3 audio books

We also offer streaming audiobooks from Overdrive and Hoopla

Computers

  • Wireless access throughout the building. 
  • Computers on every floor (use your Banner ID and password). 
  • Academic Technology Center computer lab is on the ground floor. 

Printing

  • Free black-and-white printing is available on printers in ATC courtyard and computer lab on the Ground floor. (Instructions near printers) (Register your ID before printing)
  • Send your document to circprint@sewanee.edu for color printing only for 50 cents per page and pay/pick it up at the Circulation Desk on the Main floor.
  • For print jobs over 25 pages or for posters and any that are Department Charges please see Print Services.

Faxing

  • You can send and receive faxes at the Circulation Desk on the Main floor
  • The fax number is 931-598-1145
  • There is no charge for University students

Digital Audio Recorders

Zoom H1 and H2 Digital Audio Recorders are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

Audio recorders can be checked out for 7 days

 

  The Zoom H1 Audio Recorder is a hand-held or table-top, black, electronic device with a central button and screen and a rounded area on top that houses the device's small, silver microphones.                              The Zoom H2 Digital Audio Recorder is a black, hand-held or table-top electronic device with a larger central screen and buttons as well as a larger microphone top.

Blu-Ray Players

Blu-ray players which also play DVDs include a remote control and HDMI cable for easy setup.

Blu-ray players can be checked out for 7 days.

Blu-ray discs and DVDs can also be checked out with Blu-Ray Players for 7 days from the Video Collection.

Calculators-Graphing 

Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE Color Graphing Calculators can be checked out at the Circulation Desk.

Also, graphing calculator chargers and transfer cables are available and can be checked out for 3 hours.

Camcorders can be checked out for 7 days.

 

The Canon Vixia H-F R-40 is a black, hand-held device with a silver-capped lense.     The Canon Vixia H-F-R-72 is a black, hand-held device with a black-capped lense.

Dry Erase Marker Kits 

Dry erase board kits with 5 colored dry erase markers and board erase.

Dry Erase Marker Kits can be checked out for 3 hours.

DVD Players/Writers

MAC DVD player with USB and USB-C cable adapter.

Multi DVD Player/Writer with USB and USB-C cable adapter.

DVD Players/writers can be checked out for 7 days.

 

The MAC DVD player with USB and USB-C cable adapter is a flat, silver device with a square shape. There is a disc slot on the front of the device and a cord attached to the back.     The LG Multi DVD Player/Writer with USB and USB-C cable adapter is a flat, black device with a square shape.

HDMI Cable

High-quality HDMI cables to USB and USB-C.

HDMI to USB-C adapters are available with HDMI cables. Quality is not guaranteed with projection systems use.

HDMI cables can be checked out for 7 days.

Headphones

Wired On-Ear (Audio Jack with volume control/microphone on cable)

Ralston Listening Room (along with Key Fob for room access)

All headphones be checked out for 3 hours.

MacBook-Laptop Computers

MacBook Computers are available for emergency checkout for a limited checkout period. 

MacBook Pro Computers can be checked out for 7 days.

MacBook Pro Computers are available for semester-long use to students experiencing hardship when approved by Technology Access Services and with pickup at the Library's Circulation Desk.

Flexible Molecular Model Kits

May be used to construct representations of molecules.

Example of plastic pieces included: various clip-like objects, gray and red connectors, and round objects that are green, white, red, and blue. Very useful for modeling molecules, presumably.

All Flexible Molecular Model Kits can be checked out for 3 hours.

SD Card Reader

SD card readers with USB and USB-C connect that will read SD and microSD cards.

SD Card Readers can be checked out for 7 days.

Tripods

Tripods are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

Tripods can be checked out for 7 days.

Umbrellas

Umbrellas are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.

Umbrellas can be checked out for 24 hours.
