How to find audio and video using various tools.

DVDs

DVDs have a loan period of seven days and patrons may borrow up to five titles at a time. Some videos are also on Reserve for class use.

DVDs in the following special categories have call numbers with the category plus the first three letters of the title:

Animated Films Example: Princess Mononoke     Video Animated Pri
Children's Movies Example: The Jungle Book          Video Children Jun
Feature Films Example: Citizen Kane                  Video Feature Cit
Foreign Films Example: Zentropa                        Video Foreign German Zen
Television Shows Example: Mad Men                        Video TV Mad

Documentary films and other non-fiction works, and literary drama in English are arranged by subject in Library of Congress classification:

Music and Spoken Word CDs

Music CDs are arranged by Audio-CD number, in the approximate order of purchase, so that the most recently acquired titles are at the end. It's easier to find what you are looking for using TigerSearch, rather than browsing the shelves. CD's have a 3-day loan period. Additional CD's and also vinyl LP recordings are housed in the Ralston Music Library.

 

Audiobooks and other spoken-word recordings on CD are arranged in LC classification, and the titles have a loan period of 5 weeks. There are also two special categories:

Radio Shows

Children's Books and Stories

Spoken Audio CDs have a loan period of 5 weeks.
