The number of active requests depends on your patron type. Currently, Sewanee faculty, students, staff, and Emeritus may have up to 30 active requests. Community patrons may have up to 5 active requests.

An active request is one that is either "In Process" or a loan (returnable item) that is currently checked out to you. Once your returned loan is checked in, the request is considered Closed and there is room for another active request.  For non-returnable items such as book chapters and journal articles, once the article or chapter is received, the request is considered Closed and there is room for another active request.
